Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia)

The Ronald McDonald House Charities™ Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia) was established as a non-profit organization in February 1990 as part of the 280 local RMHC chapters worldwide, with a clear vision to enrich the lives of less fortunate children and encouraging them to achieve their fullest potential. Our energies are focused on 3 main areas: health, education and welfare.

McDonald’s Malaysia bears all administration and management costs, thus enabling RMHC Malaysia to use 100% of all donations received to assist less fortunate children. It is also the means by which McDonald’s Malaysia contributes to the community.

Give a Helping Hand now!

Give a helping hand for children born with cleft lip and palate by being part of the Helping Hand movement!

Launched in conjunction with McDonald’s World Children’s Day, 100% of all proceeds from the sale of Helping Hand car stickers will be channeled into the Gift of Smile Champaign to enable Malaysian children with cleft lip and palate undergo fully sponsored corrective surgery.

Cleft lip and palate is the fourth most common birth defect in Malaysia and it is estimated that 1 out of 600 newborn babies from the total average of 570,000 born every year are affected by this defect. To date, there are almost 12,000 babies born with cleft lip and palate.

Children who have an untreated cleft lip and palate will not only develop speech defects and psychological problems associated with their visible impairment but also form habits which become very hard to eliminate at a later stage. Lack of awareness and the costs of treatment available for cleft lip and palate contribute to the delayed arrival of patients.

Thus, the Gift of Smile campaign provides free corrective surgery for these children, preferably at early stages at life.

The Helping Hand car stickers can be obtained at any McDonald’s outlets throughout the nation for only RM2.

Together, let us give them the Gift of Smile.
